Identity Design;

Identity design, also known as branding, is the art of visually capturing the essence and values of a brand. It involves creating a cohesive and memorable visual identity that resonates with the target audience.

At its core, identity design comprises several key components:

  1. Logo: The cornerstone of a brand's visual identity, often combining symbols, text, or both to create a distinctive mark.

  2. Color Palette: A thoughtfully curated selection of colors that evoke the desired emotions and associations, setting the tone for the brand.

  3. Typography: The careful selection and use of fonts to convey the brand's personality and ensure consistency across all communications.

  4. Visual Elements: These encompass a range of graphical elements such as patterns, icons, illustrations, or photography styles, all contributing to the brand's unique visual language.

  5. Brand Guidelines: A comprehensive set of rules and standards that dictate how the brand's visual elements should be applied across different mediums, ensuring a cohesive and recognizable identity.

By crafting a compelling identity design, I help businesses establish a strong presence in the market, fostering trust and loyalty among their audience as well as showcasing their personality through their visual brand,

Uprise Baking Co.

“At Uprise Baking Co., we blend heritage, tradition, and a passion for baking to create delicious treats that nourish both body and soul. Our bakery, adorned with muted purple hues, welcomes you to settle in for a moment of tranquility while savoring our handcrafted delights. We invite you to indulge in our offerings and experience the love and care we pour into every recipe.”

KrafTea Kombucha

I spent my Summer loving designing this logo for @krafteakombucha, a local Kombucha Brewery in Worcester. It was my honor to work with Matt and to create this logo as an homage to the late Kelly A. Momberger. Kelly was an activist, environmentalist, a master knitter, an extraordinary seamstress, an interior decorator, a creative chef, a web designer and lover of the arts. Beyond that, she contributed a great deal to the Worcester Arts Council and other artistic endeavors over the years. Despite not knowing Kelly, I know her spirit is so missed.

“If it can’t be a party, let it be a game. If not a game, let it be a puzzle.” – Kelly M.

Singe Confectionery

Two best friends Alex and Kim on a quest to create whimsical baked goods from scratch.

“Monique was really chill and easy to work with. She was very knowledgeable about design and was able to take our ideas and incorporate them in a creative way. She brought our idea to life in a way we weren't even able to imagine! Monique provided a lot of color options and image types and really cared about learning what we wanted through face to face meetings. Our customers always comment on the logo when we vend. It's either the very first thing they notice, or it's an aha moment in the middle of our transaction. It's a great way to start conversations with customers!”

The Forge Theater Lab

The Forge Theater Lab, in residence at Fitchburg State University, develops new plays that ignite passionate conversations.

At the beginning of Summer 2019, I won a logo design contest for The Forge Theater Lab. From there I developed the final version of the logo and the Brand Identity Guide. Seasons one and two were designed in full by me. Check out all the posters and other collateral I made below.

I thrive in designing posters for theater troupes. I have worked with The Forge Theater Lab, FSU Mainstage, FSU Improvatron, and the Falcon Theater Club. I would love to work with more theater groups in the future so, if you know a troupe in need, you know who to call.

NuggBuddies

As an adept branding designer, my contributions to the NuggBuddies project were pivotal in encapsulating the playful and endearing essence of the product. The logo I crafted features a charming cartoon character that harmonizes effortlessly with the artisanal and whimsical nature of handmade NuggBuddies.

Beyond the logo, I developed a comprehensive brand identity package encompassing a spectrum of visual elements including color palettes, typography, and graphics. These elements are designed to seamlessly integrate across diverse marketing collateral.

I am confident that my branding design will distinctly distinguish NuggBuddies within dispensaries statewide, fostering a devoted customer base drawn to the product's distinctive and personable aesthetic.

Her Republic

“ Her Republic is an independent film studio focusing on feminist ideas through creating stunning documentaries of female accomplishments.”

Wisdom, intellect, power, elegance, craft, aspirations; I focused on these words in the creation of this logo. This studio represents female power and the logo is the embodiment of these ideas. 2019.

Therapeutic Home Care

This client came to me asking for a design of the Caduceus staff. This design does not feature the twin serpents, it instead has a ring around it to represent the benefits of holistic practice. 2021.

Jupiter Wellness

Initially, my client requested Jupiter and dandelions for the logo concept as you can see in the sketches. Scroll through the slideshow to see how the process changes from start to finish! 2021.

Small business owners often come to me seeking a different viewpoint on their visual identity. Refining the logo design based on feedback is very important when creating a fully realized design.
